Samsung devices feature a feature that enables you to share files via links, making it easy for transferring large media files between friends and family members. Samsung’s Link Sharing feature provides an efficient means of exchanging files between phones and other devices – such as PCs – using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct technology to find compatible devices, then quickly share pages, images, videos, files with just one tap! This feature is now available on most Android phones running Marshmallow version OS.
To use Link Sharing, first select the files you’d like to send from your device’s storage space and tap on Share. Select Link sharing from the list of available options; once copied, you can paste them in WhatsApp, email, or text messaging where they will eventually land and click them to download them onto their own devices.
Link Sharing can be an efficient and secure method of file transfer between devices, but it’s essential that you take precautions in order to protect the information being transferred. As well as limiting who has access to your files, consider disabling Bluetooth and mobile data on your phone to stop unwanted information being shared among contacts.
If your data security is of importance to you, consider disabling Google Photos’ link preview feature. To do this, open up Google Photos app and navigate to an album where there should be a paper clip icon – this opens an options menu where you can toggle off sharing options such as link previews.
Your link can also expire automatically at a specified date and time, making this an excellent way to protect sensitive documents that only need be seen for a short while. To set an expiration date on any document that needs sharing, select it then click the three dot icon in the upper-right corner and choose Options, Link settings, Share window calendar icon then date drop down menu then set an expiration date manually or set default expiration dates that apply to all future links by checking “Expires after.” You can modify these later if necessary.
